Keep, search and reuse your clipboard history locally.
_davCLIPBOARD is a cross-platform text clipboard-history manager with search, favorites, deduplication, automatic cleanup, a global shortcut and autostart, all stored locally. Stable release 26.10.2 preserves the clipboard engine while aligning motion and transitions with the _davstudios website, removing the release number from the ordinary UI, updating the support wording and using the Windows GUI subsystem without a separate CMD window.
The system clipboard is useful until you need something you copied a few minutes ago. _davCLIPBOARD turns that temporary flow into a personal searchable history without moving clips to external services.
The project remains local-first: data is stored in the application data directory resolved by Tauri on the device, capture can be paused and the app includes no telemetry or clipboard uploads. Version 26.10.2 does not alter that behavior: it normalizes the full package, aligns npm, package-lock, Tauri, Cargo and Cargo.lock, and makes synchronization checks robust on Windows checkouts using CRLF line endings.
The app automatically monitors copied text and stores a persistent history with instant search, favorites, copy-back and deletion. When the same text is copied again, the existing entry is moved to the top instead of creating a duplicate.
Behavior can be adapted to different workflows with a 50, 100, 250 or 500 item history limit, optional cleanup after 1, 7, 30 or 90 days while preserving favorites, optional launch at system startup and System, Light or Dark themes.
The workflow is keyboard-friendly as well: Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + V recalls the app and focuses search; arrow keys navigate history, Enter copies the selected item back and Ctrl/Cmd + F moves directly to search. The release uses official Tauri plugins for clipboard access, global shortcuts and autostart across Windows, macOS and Linux.
_davCLIPBOARD 26.10.2 is a stable Windows, macOS and Linux release built with Tauri 2, Rust, JavaScript and Vite 8. Persistence remains local in the app data directory, clipboard permissions are limited to text and there are no uploads or built-in telemetry.
Version 26.10.2 keeps npm, package-lock, Tauri, Cargo and Cargo.lock synchronized, preserves studio.dav.clipboard and leaves the engine, persistence and desktop helpers unchanged. Updates focus on motion, page transitions and theme reveal, support wording, removal of the release number from the ordinary UI, a stable README and a Windows Release build using the GUI subsystem.
I ran the supplied package test suite directly: 35/35 tests passed, including a run with Cargo.lock physically converted to CRLF. Coverage includes history/persistence, text-only permissions, shortcut/autostart, visual/motion contracts, Windows GUI subsystem, package/release metadata, RGBA icons, version sync and the UI-without-release-number contract.
